32nd Primary and Secondary Language School “St. Kliment Ohridski” is situated in the downtown of the capital city of Bulgaria – Sofia. It was founded in 1896 and has managed to become one of the biggest and most renowned schools in the capital delivering education services to more than 2000 students from the 1st to the 12th grade. The school prides itself with highly motivated and qualified staff, proving its merit not only on the field of daily education work but also in participation in several European and national education projects, both as a coordinator and as a partner.
The school is an English language school and the English language is studied from the first to the 12th grade. A second language (Russian, German, Spanish or French) is introduced in the second grade and is studied in the primary and medium sections of the school. The students in the secondary section of the school are selected after passing national entry exams in Bulgarian language and Mathematics. They study English intensively and a second foreign language chosen between German, Russian, French and Spanish.
The school offers its students bilingual education in History, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Art and Philosophy. These subjects are taught in English. 32nd school provides well-rounded preparation in all subjects from the general curriculum; education through course books carefully chosen to suit European standards in language levels and skills; effective and successful preparation for university examinations in Bulgaria and abroad; computing and Internet skills; multi-media education; unity of tradition and innovation.
The educational strategy of the 32nd school is oriented towards encouraging students to achieve high results, to express their knowledge and skills and to appreciate them. As young people who are committed to the European lifelong learning attitude, our students know that these knowledge and skills will help them to contribute to the modern world. Today the school teaches more than 2000 students, and teachers are 125, people with high professionalism and a desire for development and improvement. The high quality of their work is due to their inclusion in national and international trainings annually, where they have the opportunity to exchange experience with the best specialists in their field in the country and abroad. Organizing open lessons allows anyone to learn from everyone by creating a supportive environment of mutual help and cooperation. However, high professionalism is proven by the good climate everyone creates in the classroom. Good discipline, high academic achievements and education in the values of the Bulgarian and the European ones – these are the principles that the institution holds very much. Building a favorable environment for a good education of children from 1st to 12th grade is a long process that requires persistence and good management. The structure of school management allows the teacher at all times to get good feedback about his work while having the freedom to discuss his / her ideas about more effective student education. We believe that the foundation of successful learning process is the good relationship and collaboration between teachers, students and parents.
Since 2018, our school is an Innovative School, which develops a very active interdisciplinary policy in education, using project-based learning. It focuses on the global problems of the modern world related to ecology and social engagement of young people.
